BIO
Bio of BITE
B.I.T.E.ography It all had begun in the fall of 1999, in the basement of an Elmwood Park rental apartment. During the cold days of November B.I.T.E. was being constructed. At first the line up that makes up today's B.I.T.E. was slightly dissimilar. Back then Roman was on guitar, Adam on drums and the band was in need of a bassist and a vocalist. Their first "bassist" was Rory, but he had never came to any of their practices and by no means even played a tune with them. A similar situation occurred with Cassandra, a good friend from H.S., as they convened with her couple times and conferred a few ideas of the band that on no account came to reality. Then one day Adam had met Tomek and invited him to the basement to check out their fellable rehearsal. As they hit their untamed harmonies it was revealed by Tomek that he had diminutively drummed in Poland and knew more about drumming than Adam. Right there on the spot, hastily, without any hesitation, it was established that Tom would be the band's new drummer and Adam would become the bassist. Following that vital judgment the original, one and only, B.I.T.E. was created. With the final lineup completed, the band seriously took off and began to rehearse on regular basis. The first official rehearsals were extremely hectic. In the beginning no one had much of a clue regarding what they were doing. Every one of them had little experience playing instruments but that didn't stop them because their hunger and passion for creating music was just too immense. The guitar and bass were not in tune and no one was in sync with each other, but as time went on and many practices had passed by the band started to improve and produce their own songs. As their confidence grew larger they felt more confident with their music and thought that they were ready for their initial performance. It was in Elmwood Park high school, April of 2000, at a talent show where B.I.T.E. got their big chance to perform their first songs. They played only two songs; one on their own and one with the help of their friends (Jared and Larry). Despite a disappointing performance they felt incredibly strong about their band but at the same instance they were incredibly conscious that they required more practice. Their first unfortunate performance did not put them down but simply got them additionally motivated to get better and achieve their goals. They started to rehearse as frequently as possible and were able to generate seven songs that they were exceptionally proud of and couldn't wait to play another gig. Their second gig took place at Obsessions on February 2nd of 2001, but like the previous time, it did not turn out the way they wanted. That gig was a dreadful discomforting memory because nothing went their way. Adam's vocals were ghastly, Roman string popped and Tom's drumming was atrocious. The crowd totally rejected them and made massive joke out of B.I.T.E. At the end of the night everyone was in a profound disappointment and a decision was made that lead singer was needed. After a short search and couple phone calls a "songster" was found. At that moment of time he brought a new "breath of wind" to the band and things were starting to look good. They have recorded a four-song demo and even booked another gig. This time the gig was marvelous; the whole band was in step with each other, the crowd loved it and in general the entire atmosphere was splendid. As the time went on and few days have passed by the three original members of B.I.T.E. had come to a conclusion that their vocalist just did not fit to their chemistry. He didn't share the band's style, didn't have the same ideas as the other three and turned out to be charade. Shortly after, the band realized that the accurate bond of B.I.T.E. is simply Adam, Roman and Tomek. Who knows what the future will bring but as of now they are just three straightforward guys that LOVE their music and take pride in it. They take great pleasure in what they do despite the fact that it's not always easy or is not the way that they want it to be. So far it's been an exquisite yet a bumpy ride and B.I.T.E. looks forward into the future. They have played more gigs and recorded a much better seven-song demo. Their addiction for music, unadulterated mother fucking Hard Rock, is a disease that cannot be cured.
